I don’t know if they have a Trader Joe’s where you live, but they have a great ginger candy in a green bag. They are chewy though. I’ve also seen but never tried a new Altoids ginger candy, but they are covered in chocolate. When I had morning sickness, I grated fresh ginger and poured hot water and honey over it. You might wanna strain it, but it makes a great “tea”, and the heat is soothing too. Good luck and don’t worry, the second trimester is great!

I buy GinGins. They are kinda hard to find, they only have them in 2 stores in my area (out of maybe 15).
Here’s the website, you can put in your zipcode and see if they have them near you.

If not, any hard candy or ginger ale will be good for morning sickness. The best ginger ale is the one in the natural food section because it has real ginger in it. There’s two brands that I know of, Knudsen and Santa Cruz. If you get them you might want to mix them with water or Sprite at first, the ginger is strong.

Oh yeh, some stores in the bulk candy isle usually between candy and nuts will have either crystallized ginger or chocolate covered crystallized ginger, those are great too.

You can buy ginger candies at really any speciality store – and it is pure ginger just like a cough drop pop one in and suck on them. If you have a world market close to you I know for sure that they sell all different types of ginger. If you aren’t having much luck I recommend the B-6 vitamin extremely healthy for you during pregnancy and it eliminates nausea. Also ginger is pretty strong for some folks and this vitamin is a much easier solution. Its helped me a ton and especially helped during my first trimester. Good luck.

Oh man, we sell a really good hard ginger candy where I work, but I can’t think of the name of the company that makes it!
OK, I looked online, and this one doesn’t say who makes them, but these look like the same one. (Link below)
Unfortunately, they are more expensive than we sell them, but everybody who tries them swears they are the best they’ve ever had! You might also try crystallized ginger, they sell that where they sell bulk dried fruit.

If you can’t find ginger candy, try some peppermint gum. Peppermint helps with nasuea, also.

I have a tough time with motion sickness and have tried a lot of ginger candies.

I like the GinGins that are made by the Ginger People. I get them at Trader Joe’s or Cost Plus World Market (and sometimes the drug store). They recently came out with an extra strength version that has twice the ginger but isn’t that spicy.

    You can also try:

    Ginger Altoids
    St. Claire’s Ginger Sweets
St. Claire’s Aromatherapy Pastilles – Tummy Soothers
    Reed’s Ginger Chews
    Crystallized Ginger Pieces
    VerMints Ginger Pastilles

I’ve tried them all and find them satisfactory.

As mentioned, peppermint is also excellent at soothing tummies.
